TIME ATTACK in Cyprus
The creation of a high specification race track in Cyprus, the ACHNA SPEEDWAY CIRCUIT , designed by Japanese Mr Hiroki Furuse, gave the opportunity to explore more motorsport disciplines. TIME ATTACK is the newest form of motorsport in Cyprus but with the fastest growing popularity and the gathering of the most powerful and highly tuned purposed built race cars which, despite of the small size of the our country, can be compared straight to the top Time Attack cars from all over the world.
EUROPEAN TIME ATTACK CHALLENGE
Unique in its kind, the EUROPEAN TIME ATTACK CHALLENGE aims to bring together on the same race track top notch cars and drivers from all over the EU and Middle East. It is the first time ever that such an event will take place within the EU. The Achna speedway circuit will be booked for one week solely for the event. Monday – Friday will be practice days and weekend will be the main event
which will include other show events as well, i.e. drift, old school rally runs, bike stunts etc. There will also be available live timing on the official webpage for the whole week, so fans worldwide will be able to keep updated with the latest infomation coming off the track.
The official event is to be held over 2 days on the 18-19th of May. Open practice is from Monday 13.5.
Eiji Tarzan Yamada Comes to Europe for the European Time Attack Challenge!
Tarzan Yamada is the no.1 Time Attack driver in the world and could not be absent from the European Time Attack gathering in May.
Yamada has raced in numerous series in Japan and America since 1981. His championships include the 1991 Formula Mirage class and 2002 N1 Super Taikyu endurance.[3] He held the Redline Time Attack Unlimited class track record at Buttonwillow Raceway Park from 2004 until 2007, a record set in his Mitsubishi Cyber Evo.
Yamada, competing in the Cyber Evo, is a two-time World Time Attack Challenge champion (2010, 2011) in the event held annually in Sydney, Australia.
During the raceweekend Tarzan will be driving the the A.M. Enterprises Impreza GDB with the KAPS Transmissions full sequential gearbox as well as test and set up his Tarzan G-Box on the HP Motorsport EVO 8.
